Financial Institutions/Intermediaries (FIs) to mobilize capital into agricultural value chains in Ghana

Palladium International, LLC is the implementing contractor of the USAID funded Feed the Future Ghana Mobilizing Finance in Agriculture MFA.

If you are a Financial Institution operating in Ghana and have core capabilities in facilitating the mobilization of capital (debt or equity) for enterprises operating in the maize, soy, groundnut, cowpea and other high value export crops, including but not limited to mango, cashew, and shea, you are invited to apply for consideration under the terms and conditions of this RFA to participate in a pay for performance Fixed Amount Award (FAA) program.

In order to unlock agricultural finance in Ghana, MFA facilitates transactions to drive capital investment and trade in select value chains. It leverages performance-based incentives to enhance the capacity of business advisory service providers to close deals, as well as catalyzes financial institutions’ (FIs) engagement with the target segment. Over the four-year period of performance (2020-2024), MFA will unlock $261 million in investment, in addition to spurring agricultural finance market behavior change and system reform to drive sustainable agricultural lending and inclusive growth.

MFA works in the Northern, North East, Upper East and Upper West Regions for its staple food value chains (maize, soy, cowpea, groundnut). For the other export-oriented value chains (including but not limited to mango, cashew, and shea), MFA will work across Ghana to promote agribusinesses that have export potential and will result in improved terms of trade for Ghana.

This rolling RFA will close on 30 June, at 11:59 pm Accra time (UTC), but qualified FIs are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. MFA will hold an In-person Bidders Conference on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 9:30am to 12:30pm, and monthly thereafter.

Interested FIs can register by sending an email to: with the subject line, “FIs ROLLING RFA BIDDERS CONFERENCE”. Questions may be submitted to the same email address.
