Mekong Situational and Trend analysis for Mekong-Australia Partnership on Transnational Crime Project

MAP-TNC ($30 million, 2021-29) harnesses Australia’s policy and technical expertise on transnational crime and border security to promote cross-border cooperation with Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos focusing on drug trafficking; child exploitation; and financial crimes. MAP-TNC offers Australian Public Sector expertise and experiences, including from the Australian Federal Police (AFP), Australian Border Force (ABF), AUSTRAC, Australian Tax Office (ATO), and the Department of Home Affairs. Other partners include research activities delivered by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organised Crime (GI-TOC). MAP-TNC is supported by a Program Support Unit (PSU), managed by Palladium as the Managing Contractor.

The objective of the research piece is to provide an analysis on the Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Legal, and Environmental factors affecting the broader region, country contexts and the situation for each crime type in each MAP-TNC country. This information will be used to help inform partner planning including opportunities and risks for MAP-TNC interventions.

The RFP is open to consultants, organisations, agencies and institutes, as per the eligibility criteria mentioned in the attached RFP document.
