USAID/Malawi's Agriculture Diversification Project - Irrigation Equipment Installation Services - Civils Kalima

USAID/Malawi’s Agriculture Diversification Project (Agdiv) is seeking a firm to provide for the supply, delivery, installation, commissioning and testing for all of the following activities:

  • Installation of all canals and equipment for the furrow blocks
  • Installation of all canals and equipment for the paddy blocks
  • Supply of various steel specials including steel pipework, gearbox operated valves, fabricated control gates for the distribution canal systems
  • Installation of drainage systems
  • Installation and shaping of roads
  • Field land preparation

The Kalima Irrigation Project is a 28ha multi crop project to be implemented in the Chikwawa District adjacent to South East of Phata Sugar Estate. The scheme will include, drip furrow and paddy irrigation systems fed from a river pump station abstracting from the existing Phata and Sande Sugar Estate’s offtake channel which runs through the scheme area. The scheme will be fully powered by a standalone solar generation system.
