Impact from Removing Internal Barriers to Trade - Egypt

Palladium's Trade Reform and Development in Egypt (TRADE) Project for the United States Agency for International Development is considering contracting a consultant, whether an individual(s) or an entity, to undertake an economic impact assessment. This assessment aims to quantify the short (1 year), and medium-term (2-5 years) export revenues, and long-term (over 5 years) effects on government revenues should recommendations for reforming export and import business processes and streamlining trade-related fees and charges be implemented, in alignment with TRADE’s recent studies. The analysis is crucial for motivating policy makers to commit to trade policy reform, facilitate trade, and maintain the urgency of reform as a top priority for the Government of Egypt (GOE). The ultimate goal is to support Egypt in achieving the presidential target of $100+ billion in annual exports.
