Regeneration

Studies have shown that forests and land are more valuable – both environmentally and economically – when they’re left to nature. From launching innovative, forest-friendly business models to regrowing peat bogs and funding the restoration of critical National Parks, our climate and environment experts are working around the world to protect and regenerate our planet’s natural resources before it’s too late.

Agriculture & Food Security

In economies around the world, agriculture is one of the largest sources of jobs and the greatest contributor to GDP. But ineffective and unsustainable farming practices are also one of the root causes of climate change. This doesn’t have to be the case. Our teams are applying inclusive growth frameworks and implementing more sustainable practices to prove that agriculture can be sustainable and secure.

Natural Disasters

The latest reports indicate that today’s children will experience far more climate-induced natural disasters in their lifetime than their grandparents ever did. Preparing for and responding to natural disasters requires a vast network of logistics and humanitarian actors. Our Humanitarian and Stabilisation Operations Team and Humanitarian Logistics team are experts in providing critical support in the aftermath of disasters.

Energy

Access to reliable energy is a basic human right, and yet only 87% of the world has access to electricity. In achieving a net zero economy, we have a chance to build greener, more sustainable energy grids, and provide communities with reliable, clean energy. With investments into grid expansions in Indonesia and renewable energy access funds in Madagascar, we’re tapping into private capital to harness renewable energy for all.
