The Government of Kenya, through the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the Digital Health Agency (DHA), is implementing reforms under the Digital Health Act (2023) to establish a government-owned, managed, and interoperable digital health ecosystem.
As part of the U.S.–Kenya Health Cooperation Framework, there is a strategic transition from partner-supported vertical disease data systems (including HIV, TB, surveillance and malaria systems) toward integrated national platforms under government custody. This transition aims to strengthen national ownership, enhance data governance, ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act (2019), and improve sustainability and interoperability across the health sector.
The Data for Implementation (Data.FI) project, funded by US government and implemented by Palladium, supports countries to strengthen health information systems, improve data use, and advance interoperable, government-owned digital health ecosystems. Palladium is supporting the Government of Kenya and seeks to engage qualified firms or individual consultants to provide short-term technical expertise to support priority transition activities.
