Jo co-leads Palladium’s UKEA Governance portfolio as part of the region’s senior management team. With 20 years of experience in designing, managing, and leading complex multi-disciplinary international development programmes, Jo provides strategic direction to politically smart, inclusive governance initiatives.
Jo's extensive experience includes senior programme leadership roles across Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific. She holds an MSc in Development Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA in Geography with Development Studies from the University of Sussex.
Her work focuses on strengthening governance to enhance development outcomes in economic growth, education, and health programmes, as well as specialized governance initiatives focused on public service governance.
Some of her recent project roles include serving as the Project Director for the Engaged Citizens pillar of the FCDO’s flagship governance programme, Partnership to Engage, Reform and Learn (PERL) in Nigeria. She is currently the Project Director for the FCDO’s governance programme in Malawi, Transparency and Accountability to Improve Economic Development and Service Delivery (TRACTION) programme.
Both programmes apply a ‘thinking and working politically’ approach, promoting issue-based advocacy and facilitating local ownership of governance reforms, resulting in significant improvements in service delivery.
